Kids Clay Ages 4-6 with Lily Myers Kaplan
Kids will experience clay and all its sensory excitement! The littles will be making a memento of a hand or foot pressed into the clay and use their imagination to paint/decorate it with provided clay-stamps and underglaze. They’ll learn about textures and the super fun movement of mud. Each piece will be fired and clear glaze- finished at the studio. Please wear clothes that can get messy and closed today shoes. The piece will be ready for pickup within two weeks. Kids need to have a supervising adult with each child attending.

Kids Clay Ages 7-9 with Lily Myers Kaplan
We’ll be forming a pinch pot into a cup, bowl, or any other shape they desire! Using our imagination to paint/decorate with shapes, symbols, or favorite animals, monsters, flowers, or butterflies by using colorful underglaze. We’ll learn about the simple act of forming clay into objects that can be used and cherish at home. Each piece will be fired and clear glaze-finished at the studio.

Intro to Clay- Wheel Night with Penelope Dews
The evening begins with a teacher demo, then participants will each have wheel time and plenty of clay to practice throwing. The class is limited to 6 so each participant will receive personal time with the teacher. Participants will get to choose one piece to be fired and glazed. Pieces can be picked up 3 weeks later.

Pottery 101 with Julie Furrer
Pottery 101 is a basic introduction into the art and application of ceramics. The perfect gathering for someone with no pottery experience, or maybe someone who hasn’t touched clay since high school to get acquainted and comfortable with the creative process, tools and materials of the trade.

Intermediate Throwing Class - Shape Refining with Summer Brendlinger
Enhance your throwing skills using ribs to create unique profiles for your vessels. Summer will bring her experience in a variety of design shapes. Bring your ribs or ideas and she can help you get there. The studio provides all the clay and tools to throw with. If you have a tool kit, please feel free to bring it.

4 Week Handbuilding Class with Penelope Dews
Hand building is an essential part of the pottery process and mastering all it's tricks can take time. Penelope has a wealth of knowledge to bring your skills to the next level and help refine your work along the way.

Marketing for Artists with Gracie Mills and Julie Furrer
Gracie and Julie have years of marketing tools built up and are so excited to share them with you!
We’ll talk about finding your audience, tricks with social media and product photography.

4 Week Kids Clay Camp with Tina Guerra
4 Week Kids Clay Camp
Kids will learn all about clay and what all you can create with it. This will be a very hands-on experience where they’ll learn to handbuild to understand how clay moves. They’ll get to decorate and paint each piece to give it a finish. Each kiddo will come away with 3-4 complete projects they’ve made. Wear clothes that can get messy and close toed shoes. No adult supervision needed. Cancellation policy below.

Join us to celebrate Ashland’s First Friday Artwalk. Spend some time talking with artists, sipping wine and shopping for that perfect piece of pottery.

Tool Making and More with Jim Nordal
Coming to us from Cave Junction, Jim Nordal is a curiosity driven teacher who will bring in his methods of making pottery tools of all kinds. You’ll learn how to make your own trimming and carving tools and walk away with a complete set of tools customized to your designs. We’ll also be making a few porcelain texture rollers that we’ll be sculpting. Jim has so many inspiring methods of tool ingenuity that you’ll learn and come away feeling equipped to create your own custom tool kit.

Wild Clay and Glaze Clinic with Hamish Jackson
We’ll take a walk around the Rogue Valley and forage for wild clay. Hamish Jackson will teach you how to turn this raw material into a useful substance with the understanding of chemistry. How to test and retest your results. To create something that accentuates your creative process and gives a uniqueness to your work from locally sourced materials.
Hamish Jackson is coming to us from the English midlands and has recently relocated to Eugene Oregon. He has a wealth of experience building pieces from the ground up and is bringing his understanding of raw material chemistry to help deepen our understanding of wild clay!


Relief Tile and Plaster Mold Workshop with Julie Furrer
Julie will teach how to build a relief tile with the right dimensions that will give the best result for long lasting tiles with no warping. Everyone will sculpt their tiles and their design of choice and we will build plaster molds from this sculpted tile. You will learn how to press those tiles and different methods for extracting them. Also the drying process and how to minimize warping.
Julie has been making tile since 2020 and has tried a lot of different methods. She’ll show you all the ways to troubleshoot different design goals and how to finish the piece best.
