    Julie Furrer -Owner

Julie Furrer is the owner of Rogue Valley Pottery Supply and Studios which keep her very full in life teaching pottery classes, taking care of members in the studio and serving her pottery community of Southern Oregon with supply.

  • Frankenstein (AKA) Franky -Guard Dog and Professional Treat Consumer

Franky is a maltese/chihuahua/pomeranian mix who has developed a pallet for treats that does not discriminate. If you arrive with a treat, you are his new best bud. But always ask him to sit, spin or speak so he can show his range of tricks only the smartest of pups can conquer.

  • Carmen Proffitt -Instructor

Carmen is always learning. She enjoys reconnecting to herself, others and natural systems through ceramics. She has traveled different parts of the world exploring how humans have interacted with clay and is most passionate about local materials and ancient methods.

Her thoughtful works are available at Lithia Artisans Market, Clayfolk, and other markets around the Rogue Valley. You can find Carmen’s work on Instagram at carmensceramica.

  • Cate Quinn -Instructor/Studio Monitor

Cate has been at the Studio Side since she was 15, coming in as the studios first intern and has been with us for five years. She creates one of a kind pieces using inspiration from Art Nouveau and great colors combs. Her use of architecture in her work is very thoughtful but her heart lies in bringing the mud to life on the wheel.

  • Kendra Ortner -Supply Tech

Kendra is a Supply Side clay enthusiast! She primarily works in her own home studio, but loves to talk clay with everyone who visits the shop! Kendra is grateful to our Southern Oregon (and beyond!) clay community and participates in Southern Oregon Clayfolk where she contributes as the social media volunteer.

Tina holds a degree in Art Education from Humboldt State University and brings both love of clay and enthusiasm to the pottery studio. With a focus on wheel throwing and underglaze techniques.

Tina is known for turning simple forms into expressive, functional art. Whether you're new to clay or looking to refine your skills, Tina creates a welcoming, hands-on learning environment that encourages creativity and exploration. Her work can be found on Instagram at teacupfortress

  • Meghan Montgomery -Studio Tech

Meghan is the Studio Side’s glaze technician and has built an amazing assortment of glazes for our studio members. She uses recipes from our past glaze techs along with her new adventures of glaze flavors.

  • Frances Rodgers -Studio Tech

Frances Rodgers (she/they) started doing pottery in January 2025 and was immediately obsessed.  As lifelong artist, she lives in Talent with her mom, husband, and toddler. In the world of pottery, she's still exploring to figure out her style... but if you see a cauldron with three little feet, it's probably hers.  She's passionate about technical skills, can talk Star Trek or Star Wars, and will always elaborate.

While not doing pottery you can find her playing D&D or occasionally video games, drinking gong fu-style tea, or singing around a fire.  Magpie Joyful Art & Design is the home for her pottery and freelance illustration.  (magpiejoyful.com)

  • Theodora Doyon -Studio Monitor

Thea has been a member at Rogue Valley pottery studio since she moved to Ashland in 2022. She is currently working in the social sciences, but she started her career teaching art classes and leading hikes at a summer camp in Vermont. A few years later she found her love for pottery during a harsh winter living in the Tetons, and haven't looked back. When she’s not playing with clay, she enjoy knitting, quilting and hiking outdoors. Her favorite part of the studio is the community. She is so inspired by all the cool things we dream up!

  • Kathleen Kinzie-Rowland- Studio Monitor

Kathleen has been at the studio since July. Her favorite part of being here is her fellow potters. She has had her hands in clay since grade school. Sometimes life gets in the way of art, but whenever She’s had the opportunity, She has come back to ceramics.

After retiring from working in the mental health field Kathleen decided to return to pottery. She can't believe how much she has learned in the few months she’s been here. There is always something new to learn. She has expanded her interests from doing raku art pieces to functional ware. She’s looking forward to learning more about glaze theory and techniques. As a monitor she looks forward to welcoming new members and helping them feel supported and inspired in their clay adventures.
