To register for our upcoming Raku Firing, we request all artists pay the $20 to hold their spot.
Firings costs will be tallied and paid on the day of the firing before we start loading the raku kilns. The first piece is $20 and from there every 1/4 space of the 13" kiln shelf will be an additional $10. We load a raku kiln with enough space to reach in and grab the piece while flaming hot. So there's more space between pieces on these kinds of loads.
Minimum piece is 4" tall and maximum piece is 21" tall.
You do not need to be present all evening. However we don't do special requests unless the patron is there to participate. All pieces are taken out and placed into cans with newspaper for reduction. We can do special requests like horse hair or water dunking, but you must be present to help the process. Patrons are not involved in the raku kiln firing until after it's been pulled from the kiln and in process. A wash station will be provided that night to wash and clean the soot off your pieces.
Any pieces left for pick up will be notified.
