Cost: $120
Host: the Studio Side
Instructor: Frank Jacques
Level: Intermediate
Design and throw a tea bowl and an accompanying chasen holder while getting some insight into their rich place in the world of ceramics. Frank will bring a deep education of what it means to pass the cup when it comes to making something to sip from for years to come.
Open to all students who have some experience centering. Expect to throw the tea bowl and whisk holder, learn to trim off “the knob” and make your own ‘chop’!
Frank Jacques is bringing over 50 years of experience with ceramics and spent 35 of those years teaching. He got his MFA in Studio Ceramics in 1997 from the University of Washington. He’s recently relocated to Talent from Seattle where he was the clay/glaze tech for Seattle Pottery Supply, among many other things. We’re so excited to have his wealth of knowledge in our valley and our pottery community!
Cost of recycled clay, use of tools and glazes are included with the class fee. Other types of clay are also available for purchase at the Supply Side. All finished work will be available for pick up 2 weeks after class.
We will not be able to offer make-up classes. Please note, this class is for adults ages 17 and up.
Cancellations 15 days or more prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund minus a 5% processing fee. Cancellations up to 7 days prior will receive 50% back.
Cancellations made the week of the class will not be refunded.
